That was just my own perspective. The real was PEM: Program of Excellence in Mathematics. A training for students teaching them principles in Mathematics held in Ateneo de Manila. Haha, that was a self-explanation. I joined because it is one of the extras and it serves as an early review for UPCAT. I thought the first meeting was a headache but fortunately the lecturer just taught the basics. It’s because we are in the provincial class – meaning we are from the Regional Science High Schools class but were mixed up. Our levels range from 1st year to 4th year. The administrators said if were not comfortable with the topics in the provincial class then if we’re willing, we could transfer to the manila class where the levels are separated. If I’ll be imagining the scene inside a manila class, I think I will be feeling…scary. Haha, seriously, I’ll be nervous. Why, because I know manila students are definitely good…and they’re in a higher society. You know what I mean. Add up to it that we are in ATENEO. That’s a OOOhhh for me, but it would be better. I think and I wish. Topics in the other classes were challenging. As well as the people in there - students from Manila and Philippine Science High school. Ah, that would be an honor. Hahaha, but they’re ..scary! Haha peace syaniztas!
Aside from the PEM, are my Pemmates: Tenten, Katkat, Vhil, Maeden, Mary Anne and Judith with teachers Ma’am Arceo and Ma’am Chato. So sad I was not able to be with Tenten and company in watching TWILIGHT last staurday! But that’s okay. I’ll jut read it for my own hunger.Haha xD

PEM: Program of Headache and Nosebleed in Mathematics

Every Extras Count
This school year’s curriculum is much different from the last school years. Its 70:30 rule as in 70% academics while 30% extra curricular activities. Only 70 percent of your final grade will be coming from the academics and 30 percent will be from the activities you will be joining. Activities include the contests inside and outside the school. So, you don’t have any choice but to join several activities you’re not used to join. Though very far from the previous ruling, I enjoy joining some extraordinary activities. It not just enhances my skills but also it enables me to discover other people and other wonderful things in life.
It started when I was upcoming second year. Though 70:30 it not yet implemented, I joined the YES camp 2007 in Baguio with my classmates and schoolmates. It was my first time, yet it was full of fun together with my co-delegates. I was not able to know many of like my age but I learned so many things other than the featured topic, global warming. Next was a year after, the YES camp 2008! Yes, I was loyal that that I joined as well the camp in Dumaguete! We were many, as well as the things i have learned and the people I have fun with. Other than that, it was my first time to ride on an airplane! That was so fun and memorable. I was not that afraid of riding on a plane not because I don’t have phobia with heights but that I trusted the Lord and enjoyed the once in a lifetime experience.
So much for Yes camp, it’s time for the CMLI fever! Children’s Museum and Library Inc celebrated their 50th annual anniversary and we were there to join and have fun. Commission discussions were a help of knowing other ages like me and other schools. I admit it, games were too boring but the moral lessons deep in it surely have sense. Other than the CD’s, I enjoyed the most was the workshops. And I joined the Vj hosting workshop. I thought and I always think I wasn’t for that and that I don’t belong to such but then I tried. I enjoyed the workshop, the workshop speaker, my workshopmates, the vj hosting exercises, and most of all, the Vj hosting contest proper. I didn’t win but I just enjoyed it a lot learning a lot of things about public speaking. Our first exercise was advertising the con cert by Rihanna and Chris Brown. That was a mess but all were giving the most possible positive comment and I appreciate it. Second was the quartet vj hosting. That was definitely fine that our speaker gave us a ranking of 8 as 10 is the highest. He commented us that if he were to tell who was the shiniest of us four, he would answer none because all us had a role to play. While the contest proper was easy for me though I did not win. It was like the first one, to advertise. I did my best but I know I don’t deserve it. Talking about the social life in cmli, they pass around their own mini workbooks filling up the directories inside …except me. It’s just I don’t like. Maybe I will, some other time, or with the next cmli!
I love those camps. And I want to continuously join until I graduate the high school life

Math Fest '08
"The recent MATH FESTIVAL was sizzling hot!"
The first ever Math Festival lead by the Math Club officials and members was held last November 21, 2008. It was full of fun and excitement. Too sad i, together with chala and katrina, did not win in the math quiz bee. That contest gave me all the aches. Ratios, proportions, percents, algebra, geometry thingy, and most of all LOGARITHM ruled my world last Friday!
Anyways, aside from the quiz bee, i also joined the MATH JINGLE... The sizzling suppah hot jingle contest. We had a liitle cramming when we were practicing but all were worth it. We won not because our opponents' presentations weren't good enough for ours nor ours was too perfect. We won because God guided us. He knew what we really deserves. And we offer a BIG THANKS to HIM. Next to the up above, I would like to take this opportunity also to give thanks to the ones who had big efforts to make this jingle a sizzling suppah hot success! First and foremost, a big tnx to Dei together with Ria and Sheila. To our 3rd year teachers who supported us throughout especially Ma'am Rhea . Next is to my co-jinglers: tenten, chala, katkat, aaron, cyrile, joan, krisna, mafi, ann, shalice, claire, neil, justin, santos bros, mac john, noel, Stanford, kristelle. Thanks to all.
Presenting you the piece which was the ice breaker of November:

we find it difficult
so we started it now
we studied stat and we liked it

But they don't know the use
math is important
even if you grow older
your eyes shall open
keep loving, keep keep loving Math (3x)
Your mind shall open
Shake it
If the teachers teach this
then we'll listen right now
if the teachers give this
then we'll solve it right now
if the teachers ask this
then we'll answer right now
come on, are you ready to take it?
Take take take take take take it!

That's what we go to shcool for
Their voices echo in our minds
we fix our things until it's time
then the others they just laugh
we love the math of junior class
We daydream through the junior math
to prepare for college life
We'll show you a world where we belong
But you have to hear our song
that's what we go to school for
to others its a real bore
that's what we go to school for
to others its a real bore

extraordinary cmli
CHILDREN'S MUSEUM AND LIBRARY INCORPORATED celebrated their 50th annual anniversary last October 25-29 and guess what?...We were there!!!
Unlike the YES camp, cmli was totally different...More fun, more eperiences, more adventures, more friends, and more money to spend. But the sum of all, cmli was a milestone.
It was my second time to have a conference or camp in Baguio specifically in teachers camp so no more adjustments dealing wth the place. Upon our arrival, i thought the conference would be so boring throughout. It was very cold, no family and friends to talk with, and..and no heater!!!As usual, we stayed in the white hall where we had stayed a year ago when we joined the yes camp '07. Same all, same beds, sa bathroom, same surroundings. Just need to adjust with the people around.
Opening ceremony was a total nightmare. Thought it was just a typical ceremony. but wait, there's more. There's more to know about cmli...
to be continued..

If there’s life there’s hope

Tentenen tenen!!
Wooosh! The 3rd day of intrams was so rainy. Some games resumed last Friday.
I won’t talk about me anymore. I’ll give time for others who deserve to be talked about.
Story proper:
Volleyball boys… Mortal enemies, Macintosh and Vaio. The game was race to two wins. If we win, then one more. If they win, then they’re the champions. We won and one more in order to know who’ll be the champion in volleyball boys.
Set 1…We won…Alleluia
Set 2…They won..What a healthy fight!
Set 3…It was phenomenal…Here’s the story, at the start of set 3 the vaios were ahead of points. If I am not mistaken, it was 2-9. I said to myself, two more consecutive points of the Vaio then I would walk out. Then it happened.I just stayed in the classroom staring out the game. Minutes passed, shouts were all over. Zaborah came shouting, “We won!”
Am I a bad charm?!Uh, so rude. ^_^

Sportsmanship is the best policy
Tentenen tenen!!
Second day of Intrams…It was fun …
Story proper:
It was my second game. It wasn’t winner vs winner and loser vs loser , instead counting of wins. So I got a little nervous again. I thought it would be 1st or 2nd but more of 3rd. My opponent now was the Vaio. I’m pretty sure I can do this.
“PS please”…She got the first serve..but that douesn’t matter…
Set 1 …I forgot the scores but I won…Praise the Lord…
Set 2…Scores were 10-10, it should be race to two but then due to lacking of professionals it was just race to one…The wind blew off, the was out.She got the second set.
Set 3… My heart became weak…My sight became dim…I lost…
I shook hands calmly then I left the place immediately. MY intrams was ruined. And it was all my fault . No one to be blamed but me. Things happened fast and they were in the wrong place and time. Still, I tried to managed it .
I told myself: “ This is just a game. There’s a winner and there’s no such a loser. There’s more to think than these. There’s more to be stressed than these.”
Then I built my courage and revised everything. I enjoyed the whole day to the fullest.

A break
Tentenen tenen!!
Intramurals 08-09 of CNSHS
Sports team:
Green Acers
Yellow Asus
Red Macintosh(that's us)
Blue Vaio
Cheer of the day:
Tenenen Macintosh
tenenen Mactosh
tenenen Mtosh
tenenen tosh
here's the story proper:
Sunny weather greeted us but then end up raining. But still i was able to play! I played table tennis for singles 1. First top, the Acers! Though first years were just new with us , i didn't expect they would be good as it is. Hm, yes i got nervous. Very nervous because the first year player said she was a provincial contestant. "What the?!". Oooh, some kinda 'oooh' ha. It gave me a chill because every point counts. Katrina, who'll play for singles 2, and i had some discussions so as to get higher points if ever we'll exchange line ups.
Tentenen!.."PS pls".. As in "play for serve" fyi. Whew! She got the first serve..But that doesn't matter to me..
Serve ball..put the ball in..put the ball out..pick the ball..
Serve ball..put the ball in..put the ball out..pick the ball..
Set 1 ..11-8...I won.. Drops of perspiration burst out of me..
Set 2 ..9-11..She won..tsk tsk..focus focus..
Set 3 ..11-8..God loves me..!
That was the first day ..And it all portrays a break from lessons and classes..
